Jim Johnson has a northland focus to his writing, including Finnish culture and the environment. In Text For Our Nomadic Future, Johnson hones his vision, his eye for natural detail, his concern for the economic / environmental threats to our planet into poems that are sharp as blades.

Jim Johnson, former Duluth Poet Laureate, has published nine books. His previous collections include Yoik (Red Dragonfly Press, 2015), The First Day of Spring in Northern Minnesota (Red Dragonfly Press, 2012) won a Northeast Minnesota Book Award and was a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award, and Driving Gravel Roads (Red Dragonfly Press, 2009), a collection of fifty prose poems.
